At Spartan Precision Equipment Ltd, we manufacture rifle and optic support systems that weigh less and accomplish more. Hunting is in the DNA of every member of our team and as such, we understand the rigors of our passion wherever it takes us around the world and we pool all of our knowledge and efforts to ensure our designs never fail to meet the requirements of that product’s application.

Our products

Our flagship product, the Javelin bipod, is a testament to our dedication to providing practical, quality solutions for all disciplines of rifle shooting. Like many of our subsequent products, it was invented with the desire to create a modern adaptation of a traditional solution that could be easily attached and removed when required, was not cumbersome to carry, and was as practical for hunting tahr and ibex as it was for red deer and roe deer.

“For shooters who want to push the envelope, the gear available on the market just doesn’t cut it,” admits founder Rob (Mr G) Gearing. “In my younger guiding years, I quickly fell out of love with having a bipod hanging from my rifle and used them infrequently. They got in the way and bothered my shoulder when carrying the rifle, and my eventual reluctance to carry one caused me to miss a few hunts.

“So, applying my experience in aircraft engines and in particular the discovery of rare earth magnets when working on the Concord aircraft sculpture, the resulting invention was an ultra-lightweight and extremely strong bipod that could be attached and removed from the rifle faster than it took to detach the legs from a standard bipod. Exactly what I was looking for.”

As such, the Javelin Bipod was an instant hit with rifle shooters around the world and formed a foundation from which all Spartan products are forged, from entry-level to high-end. Now, more than half a decade into production, our fleet of rifle and optic support systems has generated a growing number of loyal followers for which we are forever grateful.

Construction and testing

Innovations take time, and from concept to completion, a Spartan product can take up to two years to reach our quality benchmark and be ready for production. Our team and other trusted hunters evaluate and test every material and rigorously test prototypes in the harshest environments, from the Nevada desert to the freezing mountains of Tajikistan, and countless destinations in between.

With the invaluable feedback resulting from this, further refinement is carried out until the finished article is reached and, finally, assembly in our workshop in England before distribution.

Since our first designs in 2013, we have launched five revolutionary product categories, from bipods to adapters, all with exacting qualities that are synonymous with the Spartan name.

The future

We are always innovating in solutions, practices, materials research and development, and we have some exciting launches in the pipeline that we can’t wait to get going. In fact, our roadmap for business expansion is also very bright, and we look forward to welcoming future members of the Spartan family who have an equally abiding passion for shooting sports and outdoor pursuits that will complement the skills and experience of our team.
