RWS, the perfect ammunition for hunting the "Northern Roe Deer"

In the series "The Roe Deer of the North," accuracy and ballistic performance were key factors in every hunt. In this blog, we take you behind the scenes for a detailed analysis of the ballistics of the RWS cartridges we used throughout the series. We'll evaluate their trajectory, impact, and penetration in real-life high-altitude hunting situations, where every shot counts.

Join us as we break down how RWS became our ally throughout the episodes, and why its ballistics were critical to success on this challenging big-game hunting adventure. Get ready to discover all the technical details that made the difference!

Hunting roe deer in Huesca

In the first and second episodes of our series "The Roe Deer of the North," the mountain goblins didn't make things easy for us, but thanks to Beretta equipment and RWS ammunition, we were able to get hold of two specimens from the area.

For this, we used the RWS Evolution Green ammunition, a partially fragmentable lead-free bullet that stands out for its innovative construction and superior performance. Thanks to its double food-grade tin cores and the pre-fragmentation of the front core, this bullet delivers impressive impact energy. Combined with the Speed Tip , it guarantees exceptional performance even at long distances, as we were able to demonstrate when we shot two roe deer in challenging terrain. Designed for light and medium-sized game, the RWS EVOLUTION GREEN proved ideal in situations where precision and power are essential.

Hunting roe deer in Lérida and Soria

In episodes 3 and 4 of "El Roe Deer del Norte" , we travel to the cold Soria mountains and the Catalan foothills of the Pyrenees, where we learn a lot about "mountain goblins" thanks to the research of the Spanish Roe Deer Association. We will use the powerful RWS SPEED TIP PROFESSIONAL . This bullet, designed to offer maximum knockdown power at any distance, was key to our hunt. With deep penetration and exceptional stopping power, even at over 300 meters, the SPEED TIP PRO proved to be an infallible ally. Developed to withstand advances in gun and optics technology, this modern bullet is perfect for game of all weights and is especially effective on mountain game.

Want to get your hands on the ammo and rifle we used in the series? You're in luck:
