Boc Balear hunting in Mallorca: Burris Veracity HP Scope and the Sako Rifle

Recently, we had the opportunity to live an exciting hunting adventure in Mollarca in search of a very specific prey: the boc. In this expedition, one of the key elements was the Sako 85 Carbon Wolf rifle, although the Sako 90 Quest rifle is now available with a multitude of improvements.

The Sako 85 Carbon Wolf is a masterpiece of firearms engineering. This version of the rifle is made of carbon fiber, making it incredibly light and strong. In addition, it has an adjustable stock and an ergonomic handguard that provide a perfect fit for the shooter. This rifle is designed for long-range shooting, especially when shooting prone or prone. Although its scope and accessories may make it feel a little heavy, its weight has a reason: to ensure maximum stability in difficult long-range shots. Its Magnum caliber offers great stopping power and a stable trajectory, making it the ideal choice for stalking hunting in demanding terrain.

What makes the Sako 85 Carbon Wolf even more versatile is that its barrel comes standard prepared to introduce a muzzle brake or a silencer, adapting to hunting regulations in different countries. This is a clear example of the attention to detail that manufacturers put into this rifle, thinking about the needs and preferences of hunters around the world.

The Young Wild Hunters' adventure in Mollarca was not only marked by the rifle they carried with them, but also by the place where they were. After crossing the island from north to south on a ferry and arriving at their destination in the dead of night, the revelation of the hunting ground was even more gratifying. The place was a cape literally surrounded by water, with two bays on each side. To many, this hunt might seem less demanding, but for these hunters, it was a dream come true, especially for those who had grown up in the area.

The first morning brought with it favorable weather with sunshine, although humidity was present in the air. This did not stop the hunters in their search for the boc. They meticulously searched for key ledges that would provide them with visibility and the opportunity to spot their prey. They were determined to find a bronze, a choice among the prey available on the island. However, they discovered that older animals preferred the most inaccessible areas, being experts at evading humans. An old animal does not age by chance; It is more elusive and knows its territory perfectly.

Finally, the hunters spotted an animal that fit the characteristics they were looking for. They decided to approach with caution from the opposite side of the slope where the animal was, taking advantage of the cover provided by the esparto grass. This allowed the shooter to lie down comfortably and prepare for the right moment to shoot. The shot, about 70 meters away, was precisely adjusted thanks to the electronic turret, and the bullet found its target accurately. The animal did not suffer, and the hunters were able to claim their trophy without complications.

The measurement revealed that the boc was three centimeters away from silver, making it an impressive bronze. This achievement made the hunter feel more than satisfied, since he fulfilled his dream of seeing a boc up close, despite having seen it on numerous occasions from afar. Additionally, it is worth noting that in this hunt, with boc being the only large game species on the island, exhaustive measures were taken to record every detail of the animal. This is essential for conservation and analysis by wildlife experts.

The Young Wild Hunters' adventure in Mollarca was not only a successful hunting experience, but also an opportunity to demonstrate how a passion for hunting can go hand in hand with respect for wildlife and the natural environment. In addition, the Sako 85 Carbon Wolf proved to be the perfect tool to achieve precise shots in challenging conditions, you can find the new Sako 90 Quest rifle, which with its new features becomes a spectacular rifle. This story is a testament to how responsible and sustainable hunting can be an unforgettable and rewarding experience for nature and hunting lovers.
