What optics should I use for big game hunting?

Are you thinking about buying an Aimpoint Acro C-2 and are unsure whether it's worth the investment? We were fortunate enough to try hunting with it firsthand in Sweden, and we have the answer for you. If we've learned anything from our recent wild boar hunting adventure in Sweden, it's that the choice of optics makes the difference between success and failure. When it all depends on one shot... experience tells us it's better not to skimp.

During our experience, we put the Aimpoint® Acro® C-2 to the test in extreme conditions and the result was simply spectacular.

Our experience with the Aimpoint® Acro® C-2

The Acro C-2 is the evolution of the ACRO series, with optimized technology and improvements in battery life and brightness. These are some of its features that make it ideal for big game hunting. and those that we were able to notice during the hunt:

  • 3.5 MOA Red Dot : Allowed us to acquire the target quickly and instinctively during intense hunts with wild boars.
  • 50,000-hour battery life : With a single CR2032 battery, it operated flawlessly throughout our stay in Sweden. In fact, 50,000 hours of use is practically a lifetime guarantee.
  • Extreme durability : Despite the low temperatures and humidity, this scope performed perfectly. It's designed for all types of circumstances. In Spain, we're not exposed to such adverse conditions, but if you're a hunter who travels more frequently through more challenging international terrain, the Acro C-2 can be a great ally.
  • Sealed Design : The peephole features a rugged, watertight housing. It withstood rain and snow without affecting vision.
  • Lightweight and compact : One of the things that surprised me most during my stay in Sweden was that the scope weighs only 61 grams. Incredible. We mounted it on our rifles, and it didn't affect the weapon's balance at all. I didn't have to relearn how to shoot my rifle.
  • Compatible with magnifying scopes : It gave us versatility for different hunting modalities.
  • Versatile Mount : It gave us versatility for different hunting modalities. You can also install a magnifying scope, which means you don't have to constantly mount, dismount, and recalibrate.
