SEPE launches a free course on Cooking with Game, Mushrooms and Truffles

The Spanish Government, through the State Public Employment Service (SEPE), has launched a free cooking course focused on the introduction of innovative products such as game meat, mushrooms and truffles in gastronomic establishments. The objective of this training action is to train professionals in the sector to implement new techniques and products that not only improve the culinary offer, but also optimize business costs through the use of advanced technologies.

Course Structure

The course, lasting 50 hours , is divided into two main modules and a complementary module:

  • Module 1: Hunting (20 hours) . Participants will learn to identify the main game species and the preparation and preservation techniques for their inclusion in menus. This module will also address trends in hunting gastronomy.

  • Module 2: Mushrooms and Truffles (20 hours) . Chefs will learn how to select, harvest and cook these products of high gastronomic value. Chefs will learn how to incorporate them into innovative dishes that enhance the culinary experience.

  • Complementary Module: Approach to Sustainability and Circular Concept (10 hours) . This module will offer training in circular economy and sustainable tourism , showing how restaurants can reduce their environmental impact while improving their competitiveness through responsible practices.

A Course Funded by the Government of Spain

This course, 100% funded by the SEPE , is an excellent opportunity for self-employed, employees, unemployed and workers in ERTE who wish to improve their skills at no cost. The program seeks to promote continuous training in a sector that is constantly evolving, offering new opportunities to diversify the gastronomic offer with innovative and sustainable products.

  • Workers in ERTE

There are no specific requirements to participate, except for the presentation of the requested documentation. A percentage of places will be reserved for the unemployed, while there will be no places available for civil servants.

The Importance of Game Meat in the Diet

The inclusion of game meat in the diet not only provides high nutritional value , but also represents a healthier and more sustainable option. This type of meat is low in fat and free of hormones and antibiotics, making it an excellent source of protein. In addition, the use of game meat promotes more responsible consumption, aligned with the principles of sustainability that will be addressed during the course.
