The Spanish Rehalas Association is a huge success in its FECIEX workshops
The Spanish Association of Rehalas (AER) had a prominent participation in the Iberian Hunting, Fishing and Nature Fair (FECIEX), held in Badajoz, with a wide variety of activities aimed at all audiences. During the four days of the fair, the AER organized workshops, book presentations, tributes, parades and contests, with the aim of introducing the world of the rehala to attendees, especially the youngest.
Among the most notable activities was the workshop "Make a collar for your hunting dog" , where the little ones personalized leather collars with the AER logo, in collaboration with the company El Arte de Tallar la Cuerna. In addition, the book Recuerdos de La Almoraima by María del Mar Ortega was presented, attracting a large audience interested in the history of this emblematic farm.
Awards and tributes
On Saturday, the AER paid tribute to two veterans of the hunting pack world in Extremadura: Francisco Gil Benítez , from Rehalas los Quillos, and Blas Barbosa Gómez , who received recognition for their extensive career and dedication. In addition, traditional awards were given, including the categories of Young Hunting Packer, Female Hunting Packer, Best Outfit, Best Collar and Best Caracola Ring .
Conch shell playing workshop
One of the most anticipated moments was the workshop "Learn to play your conch" , where teachers such as Leandro Pulido and Francisco Javier Domínguez Castaño taught the young attendees how to handle this iconic hunting instrument. The event concluded successfully, making it clear that the AER remains committed to spreading the culture of the pack of hounds, ensuring its preservation and future among the new generations.
