The Spanish Rehalas Association's outstanding participation in FECICOR and the Caracola Awards in Cortegana

Last weekend, September 28th and 29th, the Huelva town of Cortegana became the epicenter of hunting activity with the first edition of FECICOR , an event that promises to establish itself as a benchmark in the sector. Promoted by the Cortegana City Council, the Huelva Provincial Council, and other entities, the fair attracted a large number of hunters and hunting dogs.
The Spanish Association of Packs of Dogs (AER) played a prominent role in the event, participating with a stand and a highly acclaimed exhibition of hunting dogs in the fair's outdoor area. This participation allowed attendees to learn more about the AER's work and the importance of packs of dogs in the hunting world.
One of the highlights of the fair was the presentation of the Caracola Awards , organized by Caza y Safaris – Cazawonke magazine. This award recognizes the best hunts and organizers of recent seasons. The opening ceremony featured several hunting groups, who kicked off the event with the playing of conch shells. Quirico Matamoros and Alfonso Aguado, president and secretary of the AER, respectively, presented the awards to the winners, highlighting the AER's commitment to promoting responsible hunting.
FECICOR not only offered exhibitions but also a wide variety of activities, including taxidermy and horn craft workshops, antique weapons displays, and tastings of local products, including oils, wines, and the iconic Jabugo ham. The event also featured a sold-out Inma Vilchez concert , which was a major draw for attendees.
In addition, JUVENEX , the young hunters' association, organized various activities for all ages, while the AER stand welcomed numerous rehaleros and friends. The fair also featured the collaboration of the Paternino Podenco Breeders Association, highlighting its efforts to revive this breed.
The AER thanks everyone who made this event possible and reaffirms its commitment to continue promoting hunting culture and the well-being of hunting packs in Spain.
